UPSC Recruitment 2017 – Union Public Sevice Commission notification announced for the post of Scientific Officer(Electrical, Chemical & Non-Destructive).The detailed eligibility and application process are given in below.

UPSC Recruitment 2017 Scientific Officer (Chemical):

Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Master’s Degree in Microbiology or Degree in Chemical Technology or degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognised University or Institute.
One year’s experience in an analytical or Chemical Testing Laboratory or one year’s Experience of Research Development work or analysis of ores, Minerals, metals or Oil Fuel and various Organic and Inorganic products or paint or polymer materials.

Scientific Officer (Non-Destructive):

  • Master’s Degree in Physics or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy from a recognised University or Institute.
  • One year’s experience in Non – destructive testing Laboratory or one year’s experience in X-Ray Diffraction or investigation work on failure Engineering Material by Non-destructive and metallographic methods of testing.

Post wise vacancies: 13 Posts

  • Scientific Officer (Chemical) – 9 Posts
  • Scientific Officer (Non-Destructive) – 4 Posts

Age limit:

  • Below 30 years for General Category
  • Below 33 years for OBC candidates
  • Below 35 years for SC candidates
  • Probation period: Two years

UPSC Recruitment 2017 for Scientific Officer (Electrical):

Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Physics or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from a recognised University or Institute

Experience:

One year’s experience of advanced electrical or electronics measurements in a Laboratory or one year’s experience in the field of testing and development of Electrical Stores like Motors or Switchgears or Lamp and Photometry or Batteries or Cables or Electrical Accessories etc. experience Calibration of Electrical measuring instruments and equipments as per Indian Standard or International Standardisation Organisation or International Electrotechnical Commission Norms. Note Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Age Limits: Not exceeding 30 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for Government Servant up to Five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by Central Government from time to time.

Probation Period: 2 Years
